This local Murrell’s Inlet homeowner was looking to get their nearly 20 year old roof replaced due to leaking issues during heavy rain. This is common with 3-tab builder grade shingles as seen in the before picture. After being referred to Klaus Roofing Systems as a reputable five star installer in the area, a Klaus Roofing specialist informed them that they would be eligible for the South Carolina Safe Home Grant which would contribute to the cost of a whole fortified roof replacement.
What is the South Carolina Safe Home Grant?
This grant is administered by the South Carolina Department of Insurance to provide coastal property owners a way to retrofit their homes to make them more resistant to hurricanes and high wind damage. Grant awards are applicable and be between $6,000 – $7,500 for owner occupied, single family homes. This is not an insurance claim and applies to all homeowners who currently posses home insurance.
The Klaus Roofing Systems Solution
After applying and getting accepted for the grant, this homeowner was able to get a large portion of their full roof replacement paid for and chose to “Put a Klaus on their House.” The Klaus Roofing Way involves putting a fortified roof on your home using the leading North American shingle manufacturer, IKO, replacing plywood, sealing roof decking, putting extra weather resistant membranes around any and all weak points, as well as drip edge and many more extensive line items. This allows Klaus Roofing to warranty our roofs for up to 50 years and guarantee our workmanship. After getting approved for SC Safe Home, Klaus roofing was quick to put them on schedule and within a few short weeks from the initial inspection we were able to get their entire roof replaced in one business day!
