This local Murrells Inlet homeowner was looking to get their old and weathered roof replaced after noticing a small leak during severe storms. They reached out to Klaus Roofing Systems after being referred to us via thumbtack, an app to help you find local and reputable contractors in your area for home renovations. Klaus Roofing Systems promptly sent out a specialist to investigate the leak, and then informed this homeowner they would be eligible for a full roof replacement to be partially paid for by the SC Safe Home Grant. This would prevent any further issues and offer the homeowner a warranty of up to 50 years if they decide to “Put a Klaus on Their House.” This homeowner decided on our “Frost Stone Gray” shingle color by IKO which was also compliant with their HOA.
What is the SC Safe Home Grant?
This grant is administered by the South Carolina Department of Insurance to provide coastal property owners a way to retrofit their homes to make them more resistant to hurricanes and high wind damage. Grant awards are applicable and be between $6,000 – $7,500 for owner occupied, single family homes. This is not an insurance claim and applies to all homeowners who currently posses home insurance.
The Klaus Roofing Systems Way
The Klaus Roofing Systems Way involves putting a fortified roof on your home using the leading North American shingle manufacturer, IKO, replacing plywood, sealing roof decking, putting extra weather resistant membranes around any and all weak points, as well as drip edge and many more extensive line items. This allows Klaus Roofing to warranty our roofs for up to 50 years and guarantee our workmanship. After getting approved for SC Safe Home, Klaus roofing was quick to put them on schedule and within a few short weeks from the initial inspection we were able to get their entire roof replaced in one business day!
