This past October, a local homeowner residing in surfside beach was experiencing a slow roof leak and looking for a solution to this pressing issue. Luckily, Klaus Roofing Systems was in the neighborhood doing a repair and she decided to reach out and see how we could help. Klaus Roofing Systems was quick to send out a specialist to diagnose where the leak was coming from and found multiple holes in the plywood below her shingles. Instead of doing a multitude of repairs we decided to inform her about how the SC Safe Home grant could potentially help pay for a whole new roof replacement with up to a 50 year warranty by Klaus Roofing Systems!

What is the SC Safe Home grant?
This grant is administered by the South Carolina Department of Insurance to provide coastal property owners a way to retrofit their homes to make them more resistant to hurricanes and high wind damage. These grant awards are applicable and can be between $6,000 – $7,500 for owner occupied, single family homes that are insured. This is not a claim that goes against your insurance and is absolutely free to apply for.
The Klaus Roofing Systems Solution
After applying and getting accepted for the grant, this homeowner was able to get a large portion of their full roof replacement paid for and chose to “Put a Klaus on their House.” The Klaus Roofing Way involves putting a fortified roof on your home using the leading North American shingle manufacturer, IKO, replacing plywood, sealing roof decking, putting extra weather resistant membranes around any and all weak points, as well as drip edge and many more extensive line items. This allows Klaus Roofing to warranty our roofs for up to 50 years and guarantee our workmanship. After getting approved for SC Safe Home, Klaus roofing was quick to put them on schedule and within a few short weeks from the initial inspection we were able to get their entire roof replaced in one business day!
